So today on his real birthday it was nice to get together with some of Jared's family. Thanks so much Aunt Ashley and Whit for making a great cake! It was so nice that the weather was so beautiful the kids had so much fun playing outside!

He loves trying to hit the golf ball and his sister....thanks grandma and grandpa!

He got a basketball hoop from mommy and daddy and opened it before daddy had to leave for work!

We had a party yesterday to celebrate Mason's and Madi's birthdays. Madi's is the 18th and Mason's is the 20th so it was a nice happy medium. It was nice that so many members of the family were able to make it! It was a fun day!

McKenna's 3rd Birthday!

She was just way too cute. She liked lining up her presents and counting them! She talked for weeks about the party she was going to have! She's really into ballerinas and princesses!
She also got a Hannah Montana microphone that she sang a few songs for everyone!

She had a hard time waiting for everyone to sing before she started on the cake!

We are so thankful for family that helped us make Kenna's day even more special. We love you all!

Kathy made a stop in Idaho to help Whit get settled in at BYU-I on her way to visit the Evans family and their new little baby! It was great to see her for a little a while and of course the kids were spoiled while she was here. We can't wait for summer!

Sunday Grandma and Grandpa Burdick came over to see what the kids got for Christmas. It was really fun to see them playing with the Kenna and Mason, and the kids had a ball showing them all the cool stuff they got! Kenna walked around the room saying, "Ta Da" with everything!

The Reason for the Season!

I just wanted to write a quick note, I was pondering today,not for the first time, on the reason why we celebrate Christmas! Jared and I have really tried this year to teach our children about our Saviors birth and everything he has done for us. Mason was so cute, he would look at pictures and say, "baby Jesus." Anyway, I'm so thankful for the birth of our Savior and all that he has done so that I may be forgiven of my sins and that my family can be together forever! I'm so thankful for family here and those far away that made this season so great for my children as well as Jared and I. We love you all. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

So Jared is in love with Star Wars and so my kids know Yoda and all the "good stuff!" For Christmas Jared got Mason the voice changer mask thing and I got them all light sabers! We had a lot of fun while they dueled and tried on the helmet. It's a little big for both of them but they enjoyed it all the same!

We had an awesome Christmas this year. We got up around 6:30 so we could webcam with Jared's mom in Korea. She was able to see them enjoy their Christmas morning, it was nice. Kenna got a kitchen and Mason got a truck. They are both thrilled and enjoy playing with eachother's toys as well. For lunch went to my Mom's where we were able to talk to Sam who is on his mission in Florida. It was great to hear from him and he sounded great! Because of the storm we ended up staying and playing games a lot longer than we expected....not complaining. It was a great time to be together as a family!

I just wanted to write a quick note to let everyone know how thankful we are for the arrival of Matt and Hailey's little girl, Katherine. I would post a pic of the beautiful baby but dont want to without their permission. We are so happy for them. Just wish they lived closer so we could hold her. We are also very excited that a new little Burdick girl will be here soon, hopefully tomorrow, and pray that all goes well with the baby and Heather. Know you are both in our prayers! We love you guys!

Kenna has been taking good care of her daddy. She helps clean his incision and change the bandages. She is such a sweet little thing! Notice in one picture that she has a tear rolling down her cheek! She's our little angel!

Jared's Hospital Stay

McKenna was so cute. She decided that she needed to get her daddy some balloons so that he would feel better. She had everyone in Kings laughing pretty hard because she told them all her daddy had a hole in his tummy! She's been trying to take care of him.... his own little nurse!

Monday morning we took Jared in to the hospital because he was having a lot of pain in his abdomen. They ran a bunch of test and ended up doing an emergency appendectomy. He got to come home today but he is still in a lot of pain! We are so thankful to our families for the help they were either watching our children or the phone calls to let us know they were praying for us! Thank you all so much, we love you!

Even though it's not quite how we would've like it to happen we are excited to have him home to enjoy more of the holiday season with us!

We went to the zoo this weekend. We weren't sure if we should be loading the animals onto an ark two by two or just walk around and look it was raining so hard!!! We chose the later!

Em and Darren were nice enough to help me and take Kenna with them to St Charles so I could give my back a little more of a break. Anyway she had a ball, she loves horses and they seem to love her right back. When they couldn't find her this is where she was back behind the house. Just her and the horses!
This pic was actually taken this spring when we were going for a 4-wheeler ride up above Bennington. They had a hard time getting her off the horse! She was riding the range just like the Backyardigans!

Here are a couple of pics of Mason's new bed! He loves it and it matches the Nemo room perfect! The only problem is that he isn't trapped until I let him out in the morning! The meds the Dr has given me for my back make it hard to get up before 10.........let me tell ya, two little children can do quite a job on a house by 10! It's fun for him though and he loves getting in and out on his own!
